Advocate gives us a highly distorted picture of Bryan in Entry #7. Thisis the one where Alex sees the Operator in the background. However, It’s cometo my attention that it isn’t the same footage. The camera pans to theright, which doesn’t occur in entry 7; and the shot is zoomed in on most of Bryan’s face, while in the entry you can see his entire face and shoulders. This suggests one of 2 things: either Totheark took the raw footage while at Jay’s house, which means Jay did not post all of that scene, or they had access to the original footage. As for what has been added to the video,the words tick tock appear upside-down to start out the video. another 2 by 8 binary sequence, again accompanied by the sigma “S“ symbol. I took the binary to a friend this time and he told me that there is nothing in binary that is a ”dash” (-). All ones and zeroes. No, this is actually a countdown in binary. The audio for this video was decoded Here:

However, I think it is “quit now“, not “sit down”. The reason is that all parts of this video seem to be saying the same thing: Time is runnning out. Quit now.

Addition is much simpler, once you think about it. The video is a response to entry #16,which I will be going into in more detail when the Totheark videos are done. In #16, Jay gets an anonymous tip about where Bryan might be found. Jay visits the addresshe receives, and finds a way in. upon entering, Jay calls out: “Alex? Bryan?”. Later on he falls to the ground and has a coughing fit(something thatseems to happento Jessica, Tim, and Jay). This is what addition is. Totheark videotaped Jay while he was on the ground. The distortion in the background is Jay saying “Alex? Bryan?” over and over. It says: “see you” because he has finally caught Jay.

This is my theory for what is happening here. Totheark(who in my theory is masky or one of the maskies) emails, tweets to, or calls Jay and tells him where he can find Alex, which isn’t really where he can find Alex, but rather his old house and Totheark is just using it to locate Jay. this would explain why the end of this entry says “see you”. After Jay leaves, Masky follows him to his house, and this is how he knows where Jay lives. Masky/Totheark has no use for this information until Jay returns to the house in entry #18. two nights after, Masky/Totheark “visits” Jay to tear off the label for his meds, dispose of the pills, take the bullet, and (possibly) write “at the tower” on the back of the paper. Although, this is unlikely as itiswritten in Alex’s handwriting.

I’ve been dealing with the audio and the video seperately, due to the fact that it never seemed to be connected. I don’t think i’ll be doing that for this one. Exit starts out black, and about four seconds in, words start to flicker across the screen. I’m pretty sure i caught them all: Rat The Ore Top. There doesn’t seem to be much in common between them. All i can think of is that they are all 3 letters long, and that just seems like trivial information. the video switches to a tape of Jay walking to his car, and then hurrying away. This suggests that whoever is making these videos knows where he lives and is following him. this is revealed tous in a few entries in entry #19. the end of the video is a split second flash of the phrase: Whereis Theark. As i have already addressed in my analysis of entry # # # # # #, it seems as though TotheArk’s goal is to find “the ark”, and he (or they) believe Jay must be the one to take them there, or that he is the only one who can.

Program has that good old fashioned distorted music in the background, along with what sounds to me like a cinema projector. An oddly shaped “S” flickers across the bottom of the screen for a while. It looksa bit like the greeksymbol Sigma. This will not be the last time we see this symbol. In fact, if I’m not mistaken, the next video we see this symbol it is also accompanied by binary. Interesting. At any rate, the binary doesnt say anything for all I know. If anyone can read binary I would be glad if you could posta translation in the comments. The end of the video says “Bleed more” written like this:

This might have something to do with the binary, asit was written in almost the same format, with the exception of ble. More likely, though, it is a reference to the entry thatthis post is a reply to, entry #14. in it, at the end, Alex is bleeding. This could be the earliest example of Totheark’s dislike of Alex.

 Deluge, the third chronological TotheArk video, contains very little compared to what we have been used to. some distorted audio is playing in the background in a loop, and I really can’t hear anything else. the majority of the video, has two diagonal white strips that occasionally flicker and flash. the end of the video shows us the words “watching you” Although there have been quite a few guesses as to what is being said, most seem unlikely. all I can tell you is  that it’s backwards. If anyone has the ability to record this and replay it backwards, i would gladly take a listen.

Impurity has a little more when compared to it’s predecessor, however, there’s still not much to go on. I doubt there’s anything imporant in the audio, so let’s focus on what we can see. It’s raining, right, how dreary. the screen flickers a couple times, but not too badly. This raining clip switches to the typical black screen of our favorite Ark enthusiast, with the entire screen filled up with 0′s, a theme in the TotheArk series. but, there appears to be a few letters in the mix. taking them all out and putting them in order, we get therewasmre. from the comments section of the video I got the idea that one of the zeroes is implied to be an O. This would mean the message was There was more. This video is a reply to entry #12, which includes one of Alex’s earlier tapes wherein the cast of Marble Hornets encounters The Operator. I would also like to point out that right before the raining clip changes in Impurity, the word Operator apears at the bottom of the screen. Although i havent payed enough attention the first time i watched the rest of the TotheArk videos, it would be an interesting thought if the word operator appeared in every video that is a reply to an entry with the operator in it.

I will try to get the next couple of videos up by tomorrow or the day after.

Today I begin writing my interpretation of the totheark videos in order. Unless there is a whole lot to go on, I will be doing them in pairs.

The first is Regards, basically an introductory video for totheark. the audio is highly distorted as we will come to know and love, and the only message we see at first are a bunch of slashes and the word closely. however, (and i only see this because it is a repeated message in the series and because the dashes must mean something) the slashes actually have a secret meaning. there are three different sizes that appear, each the same number of slashes across as they are down. If you count with the alphabet, (or whatver you call making 1 equal A and 2 equal B and so on) you will see that the first letter is L, the second O, and the third K. This makes the message for this video, counting the times the letters are repeated, LLOOKKK CLOSELY. I’m not sure why L and K were repeated, but this video seems to be telling us that things like the letters hidden as slashes will be common, and that we do need to look closely, because there will be many more.

The second, Operator, is first of all an interesting name. It is what we call the strange tall man that reappears throughout the series. On the the actual video, though, it seems to be much like the last one. Lakes In Stillness will Take Every life of the Night. Notice anything odd? oddly interspaced capitals… why is In capitalized while life is not? Look closely, as totheark would say. The capitals spell Listen. another direction. Occasionally the audio is important as well. the audio of this video, by the way, seems mostly unimportant. It sounds like one of Alx’s or Jay’s old tapes, running through a forest. near the end, the person holding the camera stops, hears or sees something (bugs and a crow fly off nearby), and begins running quite frantically. Due to the title, I’mwilling to bet it was the operator that caused this.

Enttry #37 is the second and final (as of November 2011) entry on Marble Hornets that Jay says he did not post. (there are theories that he did post them; whether he was aware of it or not are sub-theories)I find it interestng that entry is misspelled. It is an old recording of one of Alex’s early birthday parties. I have split it up into two sections:

Part one:
The first part is mostly uninteresting at first glance. Alex is opening his presents with his friends and family outside by his fence. there are a couple things I would like to point out, though. For one, there is some interesting camera jumping (almost as if it is jumping from two different points of view)going on in this part. it doesnt seem as though the events have been rearranged, though, as Alex has the same present in his hands. there is also a little visual tearing and snow on the bottom of the screen. At one point, a boy wih a black shirt walks by the camera. does anyone else think he moved a bit too fast? and, finally, a circle with an x appears on Alex’s face for a brief moment. this has obviously been added on by whoever uploaded the tape. as this is the infamous Operator Symbol, it seems as if the uploader is condemning Alex’s fate to the Operator.

Part 2:
The screen goes dark and cuts to everyone singing “Happy Birthday” to Alex and (I assume) Alex’s mother bringing in the cake. I think it should be noted the cameraman’s eerily deep voice. (I believe this is the main reason people believe The Operator has a deep voice) I doubt it is the operator, but i do wonder who that was. when Alex blows out the candles, a highly distorted picture of the operator appears. At first glance I thought this clip had been added into the entry by the uploader, because next to the operator there appears to be a windowsill. However, this is the picture frame on the wall behind alex’s mother. i also noticed that when the operator appears, the date and time changes drastically, ranging between June 6, 1944 at 9:99; and 11:58 Dec 31 1999.(also including leap day 1996 and the first minute 0f 1992) I doubt these dates mean anything significant, nor do i think i saw all of them.

Overall:
The entry description is a single word: Memories. Whoever posted this was at the party personally, and had access to the tape. This leads me to believe it is one of the maskies, though i don’t know if any of them (the cast members of Marble Hornets) knew Alex back to early childhood. Due to the fact that the audio of part one is similar to the audio of many totheark posts, this supports the theory that totheark and masky are the same person or people. it also seems as though the operator has been following Alex since he was very young.

The audio is some creepy distortion music typical of ToTheArk videos, (which leads me to believe that it was totheark that posted it) along with some (again) distorted message, probably intended for jay. Here’s the message:

We will wait for you no more.
Control is being taken away from me.
From the start it’s been a game for us.
Not any more.
I’m coming for you.
And you will lead me…
To The Ark.

lets focus on the audio first. (mostly because I don’t think the pictures mean that much) the creepy music in the background is also probably unimportant.

We will wait for you no more. this means that someone has been waiting for Jay. There seems to be somethiing they need Jay to do, but he hasn’t done it. It also implies there is more than one of them. This supports my theory that there are indeed Multiple Maskies. in the next line the subject is singular:

Control is being taken away from me. This line sound to me like a “I won’t be able to help you for much longer.” line. Has Masky been helping Jay this entire time? or does he realize that he is slowly going mad from the influence of The Operator? or, from what we know now about Tim, his meds? this also sounds like “me” is the only one losing control out of “We” in the first line. It is possible he is the only one who had the control to begin with. The next line has a plural subject again:

From the start it’s been a game for us. First of all, this is the most distorted line. it’s possible that what i heard was incorrect. If it is, though, it doesn’t seem to make much sense.(although it does make the most sense out of everything i can think it could be) Have the maskies/tothearks been playing a game with Jay?

Not any more. If they have been playing with Jay, then what changed? the most recent videos before this post were entries 23 & 24. in both of them Jay experienced himself breaking the laws of nature by walking through a door and coming out a different one in 23 and walking through a door and not coming out at all in 24. in entry 23, masky is behind Jay, but jay is soon confused by how he comes out different doors whenever he walks through the same one. near the end he walks through a door and into what appears to be a different building. he encounters the operator and blacks out. What’s changed has not been what Jay has done, but rather what has happened to him It seems to me like the maskies are concerned with what has been happening to Jay. maybe they experienced the warping, too, and want to save him from what happened next.

I’m coming for you. Singular again. the fact that it is singular may imply that there is only one left at this point, or that the others don’t want to go after jay and that the maker of the video (most likely Tim) is acting alone. This may explain why Jay and Alex found Masky-Tim at the return address for the tape Jay got in the mail. (Correct me if i’m wrong, but that entry and this one do not occur too chronologically apart.)

And you will lead me… to the ark. The videomaker seems to think Jay can take him to an important place or item. this is obviously the namesake for the ToTheArk youtube account and further supports another popular theory that the maskies are totheark. there are many theories about what the ark actually is. It could be a religious metaphor, possibly named for Noah’s Ark, which could be a location that is safe from the grasp of the Operator. Another one is that it is named for the Ark of the Covenant, which is a location or item that is the source of The Operator’s Power. This theory fits with both beliefs about the role of masky. If masky worships the Operator like a diety, he may want access to the full monty of His powers, which can be granted by the ark. If Masky is against the operator, which makes more sense to me, he would need to access the ark and destroy it in order to kill the Operator once and for all.

Finally, a little about the video itself. Twice in the video we see a few moments of masky having what looks like a seizure, like the one he has in entry # 18. Seizure masky, I beleive, is always Tim. Near the end of the video we see a person with their back turned putting on a mask. (although it looks like they’re doing an interpretive dance) If this person isn’t Tim, then he has a twin brother. the other faces, especially the one at 0:16, may very well be other people. other than that there’s not much i can get out of it.

With the exception of entries 37 and # # # # # #, I will be posting all entries and totheark videos in the order in which they were uploaded to youtube. not all Marble Hornets entries will be added to this site, merely the ones that seem confusing or imporant enough to be interpreted on this blog.
